Nusrat Jahan Ruhi (born 8 January 1990) is an Indian actress and politician who predominantly works in Bengali cinema.^[3][4] Beside the acting career, from 2019 to 2024, Jahan has represented as the Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Basirhat constituency as a Trinamool Congress candidate.^[5][6][7][8] Jahan's screen debut was in Raj Chakraborty's Shotru.^[9]

Early life and education

Nusrat Jahan was born into a Bengali Muslim^[10] family in Calcutta (now Kolkata), West Bengal, India to Muhammed Shah Jahan and Sushma Khatun on 8 January 1990.^[1] She completed her schooling from Our Lady Queen of the Missions School, Kolkata and then went to college in Bhawanipur College, Kolkata graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree.^[1]
