    The tribal authority that runs Mohegan Sun and casinos in Pennsylvania and New Jersey is changing its top executives as CEO Mitchell Grossinger Etess prepares to retire in the fall.

  • Soper currently oversees the authority’s largest and most lucrative property, Mohegan Sun in Uncasville. In his new role, he will also be responsible for Mohegan Sun Pocono in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and Resorts Casino Hotel Atlantic City.

    Soper began his career with the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority in 2001 as chief legal officer and senior vice president of administration.

    In 2005, he took the position of CEO and president of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. He became CEO and president of Mohegan Sun Connecticut in September 2012.

    Etess, 58, will remain in his role as CEO of the gaming authority through a transitional period ending in the fall.
